CONGRATULATIONS to Qui Nguyen, our playwright for this summer's musical SAMANTHA RAI. Qui was named as one of the 5 finalists for the 2016 Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History for his work VIETGONE (produced by South Coast Rep in 2015). Among the other five playwrights named is Lin-Manuel Miranda, playwright of Hamilton.
Qui, along with SAMANTHA RAI's composer Shane Rettig and Artistic Director Jared Mezzocchi will be working together this fall when they remount VIETGONE at Manhattan Theater Club in NYC.
