IT’S BEEN 22 YEARS OF ANDY’S FOR ME!

Help me raise $1,000 FOR EVERY YEAR IT’S CHANGED MY LIFE!

Hello Everyone, I’m Jared Mezzocchi and I’m the Artistic Director at Andy’s Summer Playhouse.

In 2020, I decided we needed to go tuition free so that every child had access to artmaking during an exceptionally challenging time. Since then, we’ve stayed tuition free and have experienced nothing but growth…

  • from 30 young artists in 2019 to 98 in 2023.

  • From impacting 10 communities in Southern NH to 32.

  • From 5 grants supporting Andy’s to 14 Foundations and grants.

I believe what we are doing is profound. I believe it’s worth asking us all to fundraise $22,000 to end our fiscal year (October 31, 2023) in an exceptionally healthy position.

While THIS sounds like a heavy lift, it’s also a great exercise.

Together, let’s ask ourselves:

What could $22,000 do?

Did you know that this summer Andy’s kicked one of two remaining mortgages on the property? And the second/final loan is in the amount of $22,000? That means, raising

$22,000 makes Andy’s debt-free.

Did you know in 2019, when tuition was between $450-600 per show, per child, our tuition revenue was $21,420. In 2020, we went tuition-free.

$22,000 allows us to continue our tuition-free programming.

Did you know that every production at Andy’s costs between $20,000 and $30,000 to produce? That includes artists’ fees, travel and lodging, as well as all design materials (set, costumes, lighting, projections, sound, and props).

$22,000 fully funds a world-premiere production.

Did you know that our off-season financial needs averages about $25,000 in maintenance, utilities, and off-season job duties?

$22,000 allows our 9 month off-season to be focused on future programming for our children.

Did you know that we depend on donated housing for our professional out-of-town artists and that when we exceed those donations we need to rent? This summer, due to our expanded staffing, Andy’s spent $9,000 in rented housing for 10 of our 25 artists?

$22,000 could house our entire summer staff.

Did you know our annual expenses average $140,000? In 2023, we secured $75,000 in foundational and grant support, and $40,000 in individual giving, equaling $115,000.

$22,000 eliminates the gap between our contributed revenue and sales.

Imagine Andy’s Playhouse being entirely contributed revenue with all sales being a commitment to the future?

MY ORIGIN STORY

It all started when…

I was a wallflower in 1996. I was bullied in school. I was confused and hesitant to make any real choices for myself…

I was 11 years old and really had no idea who i wanted to become. MY mom and Dad knew I had a lot of energy and while soccer was a lot of fun, they thought art was also an opportunity to find my voice in this world.

In march of 1996, they signed me up for a one week workshop at the Milford Town Hall where I would be introduced to Andy’s Summer Playhouse. This was a place I could act in new work that needed my feedback and ideas to help shape the unknown world of the world-premiere production. Adults needed my ideas? Adults trusted my ideas? This was unheard of…

That summer I was cast in THE LITTLE PRINCE, directed by Henry Akona. MY life would be forever changed…
